Our History Of Push Cartridges

The history of push cartridges dates back to the early days of photocopiers, when the first electrophotographic machines were introduce in the late 1940s. These machines use a process called xerography, which involves charging a photoconductive drum, exposing it to an image, and then transferring toner particles to paper using an electrostatic charge.

The first toners used in these machines were dry powders, which were messy and prone to clogging the machines. To solve this problem, manufacturers began to develop toners that suspends in a liquid, known as liquid toners. These toners were much easier to handle and produced higher-quality images.

However, liquid toners required a new type of cartridge that could hold and dispense the toner. The first push cartridges were develope in the 1960s by Xerox, which was the dominant manufacturer of copiers at the time. These cartridges were design to be easy to install and remove, and they provides a reliable seal to prevent toner from leaking out.
